Latin Mass Attendees will mark the feast on Sunday at 9am as per the Extraordinary Form Ordo. In the English mass calendar (Ordinary Form) the observance feast is transferred to Monday Dec. 9. English masses will be celebrated Mon. Dec. 9 at midday and at 6:30pm.

Join our young adult group for a day hike Saturday December 14th. It will be an all day event, and we encourage people to drive if you have a car. The group will meet at ST. MARY'S at 9am to depart. This Saturday December 7, following the 9am mass Sr. Mary Bernadette of the Daughters of Charity will offer part of our continuing series on parish devotions. She’ll be explaining the history, theology, and practice of the devotion to the Miraculous Medal. This particular devotion has been a huge part of our parish history so we encourage all to attend as we deepen our relationship with Mary our Mother.

December 4th at our weekly Wednesday Adoration, Brendan MCauley will speak on the Theology of the Body.

Special Mass November 23rd at 10:00 am: We will celebrate mass at our parish cemetery here in DC on 2121 Lincoln NE Road, praying in a particular way for the souls of our deceased parishioners and for the founders of our community.

Rev. James Bradley, a longtime friend of St. Mary’s has been appointed Assistant Professor of Canon Law at The Catholic University of America and will join in residence at St. Mary’s Rectory this coming year.

Father Vincent De Rosa will offer a Solemn High Mass on Monday, October 21, at 7:00 pm, to celebrate the feast of Blessed Karl. Saint Mary's Schola and the polyphonic choir Musikanten will sing. Veneration of the relic of Blessed Karl will take place after Mass, followed by a reception downstairs. Princess Maria-Anna Galitzine, grand-daughter of Blessed Karl, will be our special guest. The Catholic Standard featured the celebration of our parish's newest additions: the Fifth Joyful Mystery painting by local Virginia portrait and religious artist Henry Wingate. From the article: "The celebration marked the end of a project that was in the works for a number of years. The old paintings, also of the Joyful Mysteries and which filled five niches behind the altar above the sanctuary, were coated with grime from years of incense and candle smoke. Father De Rosa said the paintings were removed from the church during “the iconoclasm of the post-conciliar period” after the Second Vatican Council and placed in the basement, where moisture damaged them beyond repair. After receiving a costly quote to restore the paintings, pastor-emeritus Father Alfred Harris decided instead to commission Wingate to create a new set. "

There will be a High Mass on The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday, August 15th at 7:30pm. Plus, a parish picnic on the Sunday following The Assumption: August 18th.

St. Mary’s will be hosting a talk on the Brown Scapular on Saturday, July 20 at 9AM. This is the first in a 5-part series of talks on Marian devotions that will take place over the coming year. Speaking on the Brown Scapular will be Br. Pier Giorgio Pacelli of the Discalced Carmelite Friars in Washington, DC. Br. Pier Giorgio will discuss the history of the Scapular from St. Simon Stock through the French Revolution and into the present, as well as the importance of the Scapular as a Marian devotion. The morning’s events will begin with a holy hour at 9AM featuring Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, there will also be an opportunity to venerate a relic of St. Simon. Saint Mary's is conducting a parish-wide survey to find out what service projects parishioners would like to get involved in.

A traditional Latin High Mass will be offered on Thursday, June 20th at 7:30 p.m. for the feast of Corpus Christi. The High Mass at Saint Mary's will be followed by a brief Eucharistic procession. Our men's schola will sing Gregorian chant for the Mass and procession. This is a terrific opportunity to bring a friend to experience what will be a beautiful liturgy!

Starting on June 1st 2019, the Sunday 1pm Mass will be suspended for the summer with further consideration in the Fall. The Monday 5:15 pm novena mass will be removed from the calendar altogether.

Monday, March 25, 2019 is the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (with a Commemoration of the Monday of the Third Week in Lent). We will have a traditional Latin sung Mass here at Saint Mary's at 7:30 p.m., with Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony sung by our men's schola and quartet. The image of the Annunciation (the first Joyful Mystery of the Rosary) is the first of our paintings in the sanctuary. Please invite your friends and family to Mass on this important day at Saint Mary Mother of God parish.
