St. Mary’s will be hosting a talk on the Brown Scapular on Saturday, July 20 at 9AM. This is the first in a 5-part series of talks on Marian devotions that will take place over the coming year. Speaking on the Brown Scapular will be Br. Pier Giorgio Pacelli of the Discalced Carmelite Friars in Washington, DC. Br. Pier Giorgio will discuss the history of the Scapular from St. Simon Stock through the French Revolution and into the present, as well as the importance of the Scapular as a Marian devotion. The morning’s events will begin with a holy hour at 9AM featuring Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, there will also be an opportunity to venerate a relic of St. Simon.
