This March 20-24 we will engage in a parish mission. Every night, Mon-Fri, the program will follow:
7:30pm - Mass celebrated by a visiting priest/preacher
8:15pm - Refreshments and Q&A with our guest speaker followed by important small group dicsussions for community planning
9:30 - Conclusion of the evening
You can come to one, several, or all of the evenings. Speakers and topics include:

Tuesday - Rev. Carter Griffin - sanctification of daily work
Wednesday - Dr. Susan Timoney - parish as community
Thursday - Elena Martin - the feminine identity in the Church

SPEAKER BIOS:
Rev. Damian Day, OP
Originally from Massachusetts, Father Day graduated from Providence College in 2015 and immediately joined the Dominican Order. Ordained to the priesthood in May of 2022, he is completing a Licentiate in Sacred Theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC, and currently resides at St. Dominic's Priory and Parish.
Rev. Carter Griffin
Father Griffin is a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. Raised Presbyterian, he converted to Catholicism while attending Princeton University. After serving four years as a line officer in the United States Navy, he entered the seminary and was ordained in 2004. After completing his doctoral studies in 2010 and serving at St. Peter’s parish on Capitol Hill, in 2011 he was appointed Director of Priest Vocations for the Archdiocese of Washington and Vice-Rector of St. John Paul II Seminary, where he now serves as Rector. He is the author of "Why Celibacy: Reclaiming the Fatherhood of the Priest," "Cross-Examined: Catholic Responses to the World’s Questions," and "Forming Fathers: Seminary Wisdom for Every Priest" published by Emmaus Road Publishing.
Dr. Susan Timoney
Dr. Timoney is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the fields of evangelization and pastoral leadership. She received her Doctorate in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in 1997, and focused on Christian spirituality and the feminine dimension of discipleship. Following her studies, Susan served as vice-president of a lay education and formation program in five United States dioceses and in the Archdiocese of Rome, Italy. She was appointed Assistant Secretary for Pastoral Ministry and Social Concerns for the Archdiocese of Washington in 2010 and served as Assistant Secretary and Secretary until her appointment as Associate Professor in 2018 at The Catholic University of America. Susan began teaching as a lecturer in 1998 in the undergraduate theology program and in 2016 was appointed an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Theology and Religious Studies. She serves on the boards of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, The Catholic Apostolate Center, The Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC, The Lay Centre at Foyer Unitas Rome, and the Catholic Information Center.
Dr. Elena Martin
Dr. Martin is originally from Spain and has been living in the United States for the last seven years. In Spain, Elena studied Mechanical Engineering. Upon completion of that degree, she pursued philosophy and earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate. She also received a Master’s in Sacred Theology from the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington, DC, where she currently works. More important than her academic and professional accomplishments is her consecration to God as a member of the Secular Institute Crusaders of Mary. Elena joined the Institute when she was 19 years old during her second year at college. She took her temporal vows in 2007 and her final vows in December 2015. As woman in the Church, Elena loves living her spiritual motherhood in many ways, but especially through spiritual accompaniment.
Rev. Richard Nichols, SJ
Father Nichols has been a chaplain since 2018 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he has ministered to the sick and the dying, including COVID patients. He holds a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from Boston College and a Master’s in Philosophy from Saint Louis University. His other missions as a Jesuit include high school teaching, parish ministry, and spiritual direction. Before discerning his vocation to the priesthood, he served in the United States Navy as a division officer on a nuclear submarine. His hobbies include CrossFit and watching old movies.
